Article VI was approved in 1787. This article was included in order to switch power from the states to Congress. It was included because people thought that the states were getting too powerful. It is still important today because it changed power. Otherwise, more authority would still be with the states. An example would be if the states still had power, then some states would have some laws and others would have other laws.
